During the hybrid ceremony, Mrs Beran Dondeh, the co-founder of The Hub Ltd, praised the parents for their cooperation and efforts throughout the program. Mr Amran Gaye’s Creations, founder and instructor of the Digital Jollof program, promised more cohorts of this kind and committed to continuing to mentor the children virtually.
The Hub partnered with Digital Jollof to host the graduation ceremony for their first coding cohort. The six-month curriculum designed by Amran Gaye’s Creations was aimed to inspire young Gambians to pursue careers in technology by offering free short-term courses in various subjects including coding, web development, and databases. Nine children between the ages of 6 and 16 completed the program and presented their final projects, some of which included the creation of child-friendly tools and games.
