Beran is driven and passionate about the effects of ICTs.

As the Co-Founder and CEO of The Hub, Beran runs a co-working space and an incubator/accelerator that supports founders throughout their entrepreneurship journey from ideation to growth. As Chair of the Youth Empowerment Project’s ICT Core Team Committee, Beran was responsible for coordinating all ICT sector related interventions under the Project. Beran is the first female President of the IT Association of The Gambia (ITAG), being one of the founding members of the Association since 2014. Her tenure as President, has seen the successful growth of ITAG from a small group of individual members to a paid association with corporate, SME and startup members. She has spearheaded the standardization of ICT Training in The Gambia and continues on this path to further develop the sector in terms of professional ICT Training. She has recently set up and chaired the COVID IT Taskforce made up of over 30 tech companies, supporting the Gambia government in the fight against COVID.

She is a mentor for Women in Technology in The Gambia and a Girls in ICT Advocate. A leader in the ICT ecosystem, Beran is at the forefront of ICT policy creation, validation and implementation. As chair of the Gambia IGF, Beran led the hosting of The Gambia’s first WAIGF in 2019. Beran is an ecosystem enabler with in-depth knowledge of the IT and IT-enabled Services sector in the Gambia and around the sub region.

She is an avid reader, runs a foundation supporting widows and orphans in her spare time and is a loving mother of 3.
